All our workshops come with a recommended daily programme but we will gladly make a bespoke package for you that fits your requirements. We're very flexible and want your day to be as useful as possible. If there's an area of the history curriculum we haven't thought of that you'd like us to include, just let us know! Surviving as an Anglo Saxon
Investigate ancient artefacts, learn about and make an Anglo Saxon medicine, play the ancient game of Knucklebones, engrave an authentic rune plate and much, much more.

Surviving as an Egyptian
The children can explore some genuine Egyptian artefacts, find out about mummification and building the pyramids. They can design their own cartouche, discover the secrets of the pharaohs, fill their own canopic jars and be told the chilling tale of the Curse of the Mummy!

One day with the Maya
In this workshop, children will learn how to play Pok ta Pok (a Mayan ball game), investigate artefacts, design a calendar and learn how timekeeping worked in Mayan society. They will also act out the creation story and have a chance to try authentic Cacoa drink (cocoa, chilli and water).

Surviving in the Stone Age
During the day, children can recreate a mini stone henge, make their own stone age necklace or cave paint. They can also see how hard it would have been to hunt for your dinner by throwing foam-tipped spears at targets.

Surviving one day as a Tudor
Learn about the horrors of Tudor medicine, crime and punishment and take an interactive tour through some of the famous tudors. There is also a chance to handle tudor artefacts in a hands-on workshop. Learn a tradtional 'pavane' dance and learn about the 6 wives of Henry VIII through performance poetry.

Victorian Life
Possibly one of the worst periods in history for children, this workshop explores Victorian jobs through interactive drama and role-play. They have a chance to explore the world of steam and discover why Victorian England was the centre of the industrial world.

WW2 - Codebreakers
Learn about codebreaking in WW2 and how Alan Turing solved one of the greatest puzzles in history by cracking the Enigma machine. Children will get a chance to crack their own pigpen cyphers, use cypher wheels and have their maths investigation skills developed.

The Ancient Greeks
The children will learn about this amazing time period. They will learn about Greek mythological creatures (and invent their own), re-enact the story of Icarus, take part in a real-life court case, make a clay pot out of clay and paint, try some Olympic sports and learn about Greek daily life. They will also try some Spartan challenges (if they're tough enough!)

Surviving in Rome
The children will learn to act as one as a soldier in the Roman Legion, including how to perform the famous 'turtle' shield move. They will also have a chance to learn about gladiatorial combat and the colosseum and make their own miniature colosseum out of clay. There will also be an artefact handling exhibition. They can also have an interactive story-telling session.
