Recommended Day Schedule:

Part 1 - Whole School Assembly
The major periods of Stone Age life are covered in an entertaining and engaging way. Children will see some prehistoric artefacts and be shown how they were used to hunt or start fires.

Workshop 1 - Building Stonehenge (morning)
Design and build a mini Stonehenge out of clay. The importance of this religious site will be taught.
After that, they will be given a chance to see and learn about some of the animals that a prehistoric person would have encountered.

Workshop 3 - Spear target practice (afternoon)
The children will have a chance to launch their own foam-tipped spears at targets and score points depending on what they hit.
Afterwards, they can try to recreate some ancient cave art.
