Recommended Day Schedule:

Part 1 - Whole School Assembly
No prior learning is needed to enjoy this assembly which introduces the Romans. Children will enjoy learning about daily Roman life and Roman customs from the perspective of a slave.
They will also learn about how these skills may have protected them in the gladiator arena, should they have been unlucky enough to suffer that fate!

Workshop 1 - Roman Gods
The children will look at artefacts from Ancient Rome and how they were used to worship Gods. They will also learn about how the Gods were similar to the Ancient Greeks and play a guessing game. There will be a chance to design a God in groups.

Workshop 3 - Clay colosseum making (afternoon)
Following an introductory session on the importance of the Gods to the average Roman, the children will look at some mosaics, children can design and re-create their own in pairs or small groups using real stone and sand.
